SALE Hockey Club's Ladies' first team got back into action after the Christmas break with a thumping 7-0 win against Neston South Wirral Ladies seconds in Division One last Wednesday.

In the rearranged fixture, Sale played some great passing hockey with fantastic movement on and off the ball.

Everyone was able to do their job feeding from the keeper and defence right through the midfield and up to the fluid forward line.

Goals came from set plays and open play, with the clever use of substitutions getting the best out of the players.

Scorers were Jane Fylan and Hannah Aldridge with three apiece and Kelly Mott with the other goal.

Aldridge was also named player of the match.

On Saturday, Sale faced Bowdon and picked up where they left off against Neston and registered an 11-0 triumph.

Again they played some great hockey from defence to forwards with everybody working hard for each other.

At times Sale were working a bit too hard and over-thinking their positional play.

Keeper Sarah Bedward saved a penalty flick to keep a clean sheet and Sale's scorers were Aldridge (three), with Jane Fylan, Loui Hargreaves, Leanne Edwards and Katy Levy scoring two apiece.

Sale face the club's second team this weekend and they go into it off the back of a 10-1 loss against Winnington Park.

Winnington netted six times in the first 11 minutes, before Sue Laister scored for Sale.

But they could not stem the tide afterwards for too long and Winnington sealed victory late on.
