MANCHESTER Storm Ice-Hockey side entertained Nottingham Panthers to the Altrincham Ice Rink, in EIHL Challenge Cup action.

Storm started the game well, dominating the ice in the first period of play. Despite this, the Panthers, thanks to their incredible netminder Miika Wikman, were able to keep the puck out of the back of the net for the first 20 minutes.

The second period started out much better for the Panthers however, as they were able to take the lead due to a defensive error by Storm which lead to Andy Bohmbach scoring early on.

Storm levelled things up 10 minutes later on the PowerPlay with Luke Salazar getting on the scoresheet.

Matt Paton helped Storm take the lead four minutes later thanks to an incredible pass off Salazar.

However, the third period was the turning point in the game, and the Storm started to look tired.

Nottingham were able to capitalise upon this and slip three past Storm netminder over the period to end the game 4-2 victors.

This coming weekend see the Manchester Storm at home on Saturday to the Edinburgh Capitals, before heading up north to face the Capitals again on the Sunday night. Get your tickets today from the box office on 08700-852-929 or online via www.manchesterstorm.com.
