MANCHESTER Giants came from behind for a second consecutive win of the new BBL season.

They recovered from as many as 18 points down to beat Plymouth Raiders 95-89.

Olu Babalola had a game-high 23 points to lead the fightback with Ingus Bankevics, Stefan Gill and Callum Jones providing plenty of support with 20, 19 and 18 points respectively.

From being 79-61 behind, Yorick Williams’ men compiled an incredible 27-4 spell across the third and fourth quarters to build a five-point lead of their own.

Raiders led 21-20 at the end of the first despite a buzzer-beating three from Bankevics. Dante Williams netted back-to-back three-pointers, on his way to a team-high 20 points, to spark an 11-2 run in the second as Plymouth established a commanding 53-40 lead at half-time.

Two triples from Daryl Corletto in the midst of another 11-2 burst put his side up by 18 points in the third.

The comeback began with the final seven points of the third and was later complete when Gill and Babolala both netted from beyond the arc to make it 88-83 in the Giants’ favour.

Dante Williams cut the gap to two with a three of his own approaching the final two-minute mark. However, turnovers proved costly and the Giants sealed the win from the free throw line to complete a memorable comeback.

Manchester Giants are delighted to announce the signing of point guard Omar Khanani.

The player, 30, has experience in the US and Europe as well as the United Arab Emirates.

Khanani attended Texas College and has played in Germany, Greece and Iceland.

Coach Yorick Williams said: "Omar has solid experience and is a good floor leader.

"We're pleased to able able to add him to the squad."

Khanani's signing follows those of Chris Pearce, Barry Webster and Jerrelle Okoro .
