BROOKLANDS first team were on the road last week and lost for the second successive week as they narrowly failed to chase Stockport's 179.

Caleb Jones and Alexander Jordan Hart took three wickets apiece to put pressure on Stockport, who had Roscoe Price Moor (51) and Mike Eley (40*) to thank for their runs.

In reply, Jack Bagshaw opened up and made an extremely impressive 89 to take his tally for the season to 471 but he had no support from the other end as Brooklands were bowled out for 160 to lose by 19 runs.

Meanwhile, the second team fared no better as league leaders Nantwich comfortably beat them at home, knocking off the 108 scored for the loss of just four wickets.

Elsewhere, the third XI had more joy beating Neston 3rd team as they lost to Neston 4s the previous week with Mark Bloomfield scoring 75.

This time the youngster made 109 against the Wirral outfit while veteran Chris Moore took 5-66 and mopped up Neston's lower order.

On Sunday, the fourth XI also won as they bowled Hyde out for 123 and knocked it off for just two wickets, with unbeaten half-centuries for Ethan Brooks and the unstoppable Bloomfield.
