THE All Blacks are coming...and it is not just the New Zealand rugby team getting ready for the World Cup.

Instead it is the new, rebranded Altrincham Kersal RFC mini and junior teams.

The brainchild of the new Heads of mini and junior Rugby at Altrincham Kersal RFC, John Stevenson and Tim Marston, the relaunch and rebrand is the latest in a number of initiatives by "AK" to help to develop community rugby in Trafford and South Cheshire, and to encourage more participation from children from ages six to 16.

As the name suggests, the AK mini and juniors section is changing it's historical red, white and black kit, to one that is predominantly black, and it's name to the AK All BlAKs. It is looking to encourage interest in local schools, attract players who want to play for a more progressive club, and continue and develop the success of the mini and junior teams of recent years.

Joint Chairman, Tim Marston said: "We want all our teams, from six to 16, to have one identity, one colour, one club.

"This will create and foster the sense of community we are trying to create and develop, and hopefully the offer of free kit will encourage new players, both new to the game and existing ones."

Club official John Stevenson said: "Our 1st XV has had a highly successful season, winning promotion, and we want to help create those players for tomorrow.

"But we also want to encourage all young people to stay fit, keep healthy, and rugby is great way of doing that in a controlled and fun environment."

The new 'All BlAKs' will be running courses throughout the summer, and training for next season will be starting shortly. A summer camp is available and details can be found on the club website www.pitchero.com/clubs/altrinchamkersalrfc/.
