ALTRINCHAM FC’s pre-season training regime is now in full swing as the players completed their fourth fitness session on Tuesday evening in temperatures close to thirty degrees.

The squad will complete six training events ahead of the first pre-season friendly at Abbey Hey, who play in the North West Counties Football League, on Tuesday evening, which commences a sequence of eight games in 26 days, with the Robins’ pre-season fixtures completing with a home game against Sky Bet League One outfit Port Vale on the opening day of August.

“We have one or two players training with us, who we are planning to take a look at in the early friendly games and it’s likely that the next couple of weeks will be a busy time for a lot of clubs, as many players’ contracts finish today” said Altrincham manager Lee Sinnott, following the completion of training on Tuesday.

The newly formed National League, previously known as The Vanarama Conference, publishes its fixtures on Friday at 1pm and Sinnott is hoping for a more positive schedule than last season, when the Robins supremo was unhappy that his team started & finished its campaign with away fixtures.

"I’d like to think that we can start & finish our campaign at home this time, to redress the imbalance of last season, but I guess that we will just have to wait and see” said Sinnott, who is starting his fifth season in charge.

Off the field, the club will have a strong presence at the Altrincham Festival on Saturday.

Altrincham Football Club Community Sports Company will be entering Altrincham Festival on behalf of Altrincham Football Club, and also attempting to promote, and increase awareness of the Sports Hall.

Helpers would be appreciated to walk with the float through the town centre, or on Beech Fields, Timperley, where there will be demonstrations of all the activities that occur in the Sports Hall, as well as a tombola
