BATSMEN from Timperley CC will be facing some of their biggest challenges all season when they take on a bowling attack including Steve Harmison, Matthew Hoggard, Simon Jones and Graham Onions.

The England Masters side boasting a host of Ashes-heroes will visit the Stockport Road side tomorrow night.

Chairman Adam Horan insists excitement is building ahead of the clash.

He said: "I know a lot of people have been keeping an eye on the weather and it is looking good.

"More than 500 tickets in advance and hopefully we can get upwards of a thousand on the day.

"We have 100 people in the marquee which is great.

"There have been a few changes to the England line-up Graham Onions who is still in the county scene along with Ryan Sidebottom from Yorkshire.

"They have got a very strong bowling line-up.

"A lot of hard work has gone into bringing these names here and it will be good to have these players in our dressing rooms and in the community."

Timperley head into the clash in fine form after extending their lead at the top of the Vivio Cheshire League Division One to 12 points after a winning draw against rivals Sale.

Despite the anticipation of lining up against the country's finest, Horan believes the club face a crucial month to be in the mix for promotion.

He said: "We face Urmston on Saturday then Didsbury the following week.

"They are very strong teams and will be a challenge."
