MERSEY Valley FC's Under-17s won the club's first piece of silverware with a 4-0 victory over Sporting Sale in the Timperley & District Youth Division Two Cup final.
Mersey Valley had the better of the opening exchanges at Valley Road, and Charlie Boulton put them in front with a powerful left-foot drive.
Finn Carroll doubled the lead by converting a near-post corner and Adrian Barnett's long-range free-kick ensured they went in for half-time with a 3-0 lead.
Dominic Newton sealed the victory after the break, capitalising on a defensive mistake before drilling home.
Victory was the first part of a potential double, with the team top of the league by four points with three games remaining.
Coach Liam Woods said: "The commitment from the boys was there for all to see. We have a job to finish in the league but we'll enjoy this moment!"
Football development officer Dave Wood said: "This is a proud night, not just for the team and coaches but for the whole club - we have come a long way in our first year."
