Sale Sharks 32 Wasps 29

SALE Sharks were soon on the attack and won a penalty midway inside the Wasps half after two minutes and Joe Ford kicked the three pointer with ease 3-0.

Wasps youngsters hit back immediately and Will Rowlands scored a try after a well worked series of phases. Alex Lozowski converted 3-7.

Sharks didn't panic and started to build some momentum. On nine minutes a sweeping move from right to left and the ball landed in the hands of Alberto De Marchi who threw a lovely dummy and touched down. Joe Ford converted and Sharks were back in front 10-7 after eleven minutes.

On 23 minutes Wasps struck again and Will Helu finished a fine move by touching down. Alex Lozowski converted and the visitors led 10-14.

Three minutes later Sharks were back in front when Josh Beaumont crashed over for his first try for the club after good work by Mark Easter. Joe Ford converted 17-14.

Will Helu grabbed Wasps third try on 32 minutes after a good attacking move by the visitors created an overlap. Lozowski missed the conversion 17-19.

Sharks were soon on the attack after the break and Vilami Fihaki scored a try after the Sharks exerted massive pressure on the Wasps defence on 42 minutes. Joe Ford missed the conversion 22-19.

Sharks eventually scored their bonus point try on 62 minutes when substitute Sam James broke clear ond put Charlie Ingall in under the sticks for a try. Nick Mc Cleod converted, 29-19.

Wasps scored their fourth try a minute later when Ed Jackson ran in from close range to touch down. Alex Lozowski converted, 29-26.

The Wasps side were not for lying down and won a penalty on 70 minutes which Alex Lozowski kicked perfectly, 29-29.
