Trafford MV 65 Birchfield 0

TRAFFORD MV gradually tightened the screw on visitors Birchfield and ran out 11 try winners in an impressive performance.

A good size crowd saw MV start slowly, building a steady forward platform and doing enough to edge in front and keep the score growing.

Fleet footed James Matthie rounded the Birchfield defence to open the scoring, Other first half tries came from Moore and Gregg with playmaker Crampton scoring the try of the game after jinking out of defence and touching down after a 90mtr sprint. Kicker Ben Wheeler had a difficult day with the boot id gusty conditions converting only one out of four to put the half time score at 22-0.

Birchfield turned around to have the wind in their face as well as a confident home side to contend with. The game now burst into life three tries from Pat Eccles, Bevan and Davenport within the space of 10mins ramped the score up to 41-0 and the resilience of the visiting side had now ebbed.

Pat Eccles crossed the line again followed shortly afterwards by his brother winger Chris and then replacements Jamie Kingdon and Zac Crabb closed the game off for MV.
