Altrincham 3 Eastleigh 3

EASTLEIGH had to be content with a point after an excellent Altrincham performance had seen the hosts three times take the lead against the well-financed Hampshire club, who have attracted many well known non-league stars to their ranks

All three goals from Altrincham had quality in their make up. The opener arrived in the 11th minute after Simon Richman had done well on the right flank. He fed Kyle Perry, whose strength allowed him to get the ball to Sean Williams.

Alty's young midfielder then threaded a pass through to Damian Reeves, who scored with a low shot.

But it took Eastleigh just five minutes to equalize. A freekick taken by American midfielder Jai Reason was nodded on and Reid, the visitors'

captain levelled.

Alty's second goal, in the 35th minute, was an early contender for Goal of the Season. Cavanagh's deep cross from the right was thrashed home, on the volley, by left-back Adam Griffin at the back post. This time Altrincham's lead lasted for eight minutes before McAllister converted a low cross from the left of goal, two minutes before the interval.

After 65 minutes, a superb crossfield ball from Scott Leather located Adam Griffin on the left wing and his cross was headed home by Reeves to make it 3-2. It was the striker's seventh goal of the season.

However, eleven minutes from time, Reason curled home a third equalizer for the visitors, from outside the box. The draw lifted Alty to 16th in a league in which the well-funded and the full-time sides have already opened up a gap of four points above the bottom nine teams.
