MORE than 100 players, umpires, teachers and parents enjoyed the twelfth Hale Barns Kwik Cricket Festival.
The event opened with the Hale Barns Cup competition for four state primary schools - Stamford Park Juniors, St Vincent’s RC Primary, St. Hugh’s RC Primary and Well Green Primary.
Stamford Park won all their three matches, with St Hugh’s just edging out St. Vincent’s RC as runners up.
As St Hugh’s are unable to attend the next stage in the competition, Stamford Park and St. Vincent’s competed in the Trafford Final, the next stage of this national competition, at Sale C.C. on June 26.
The full day Hale Barns Trophy competition was also blessed with warm sunshine. The Trophy was contested by five independent primary schools – Altrincham Prep, Forest School, Hale Prep, Pownall Hall and St Ambrose.
it was Forest School that claimed the Hale Barns Trophy and ended a string of five successive victories by Altrincham Prep.
