TRAFFORD MV get their first League win against visitors Over Peover.
Trafford’s first team finally got their first win of the season with a fine win against Over Peover.
Trafford MV, the home side, were put into bat on a green looking track and the opening pair of Jahinger Mustaq(25) and Tahir Mahmood(63) got the team off to a solid start,with other contributions from Tom Armstrong(18) and Mo Saqib(28),MV passed 100 for the first time this season to reach 154-7 off their 45 overs.
With regular opening bowler Rashid Parvez missing through illness,the first appearance,due to work commitments,of Saqib enabled the MV attack to quickly get amongst the Over Peover batsmen. Well supported by "Paddy" Harrison at the other end,Saqib quickly picked up three wickets Saqib finished with 4-17 and Mustaq 6-16 for his second 5 wicket haul of the season as the opposition were bowled out for 49.
This was a fine win for MV and it gave them a much deserved 25 point victory.
