TRAFFORD MV welcomed newcomers and league leaders Haslington to Macpherson Park. Haslinton came to MV following their much publicised bowling out of Wirral recently for three runs which hit National press headlines!
MV opened with a fine bowling and fielding performance which restricted Haslington to a chaseable total of 138 however another poor batting performance led to disappointing defeat for MV.
After electing to bowl first a disciplined performance from the Trafford MV attack bowled out the table toppers for 138 with the pick of the bowlers being Jahingar Mustaq who took 5-36 with his leg spinners,credit must also be given to his fellow spin bowler,Tom Armstrong,who deserved more than 1-13 off his nine overs.
The reply from MV got off to a dreadful start being 1-2 then 5-3, No MV batsmen reached double figures and only Simon Lee looking capable of taking the fight to Haslington,being left high and dry on nine not out as MV were bowled out for very disappointing 40.
