UMBRELLAS were unfurled on more than one occasion over the weekend at Trafford MV Rugby and Cricket Club in Sale as sunshine and showers kept us guessing all weekend.
A total of four cricket fixtures were cancelled as three men's teams plus the ladies XI found sodden outfields and soggy wickets not conducive to playing cricket.
The weather however did not stop MV being in celebratory mood as the club rounded off its 90th Anniversary season with a BBQ, music and camping weekend which was attended by over 350 people.
Trafford MV now has a Last Man Stands (LMS) Cricket League playing midweek based at the club, on Finny Bank Road, off Glebelands Rd, and players are being sought to field a local side - if interested call Wilf Dooley on 01942 884542.
LMS is a rapidly expanding version of the short overs cricket style being played worldwide.
