IN Division One eighth placed Knutsford FC were triumphant over fifth placed Old Altrinchamians 4-3 in a thriller at Manchester Road, Knutsford’s goals coming from Ryan Williams, Howard Clayton and a brace from Joseph Wooley.
In the League Cup semi-final AFC Quarry were victorious over Broadheath Central FC. On a heavy pitch Quarry started brightly , Hedges having the best opportunity, but the half time score was level 0-0.
The game came alive when James Pearce lashed a superb 25 yard thunderbolt on 50minutes.
Sloppy defending allowed Broadheath Central to equalise soon after, but a bullet header from Cloherty secured a great win to send Quarry to another final at Altrincham FC.
In the other semi-final Flixton Juniors defeated Sale Amateurs 2-0 thanks to goals from Leigh Burke and Shawn Mcrae.
In the Broadheath Central Cup Juno United knocked out Winton JFC 5-3, Juno’s goals coming from Jordon Douglas, Michael Hulme, Mark Whitehead and two from Michael Brereton.
Moorlands progressed after defeating FC Woodford 7-4, their goals scored by Jamie Sinott, Danny Royal, a brace from Michael Phythian and an impressive hat-trick from Marc Bailey.
Wythenshawe Amateurs progressed after a comfortable 4-1 win over George FC.
