AS Trafford MV's senior sides both had wins at the weekend to consolidate their third place positions in respective leagues there was also success for MV's youngsters.

The 1st XV won narrowly away at Hutton 5-12 while an understrength 2nd XV played well to win at Tyldesley 13-33.

The summer-like conditions gave all players a chance to play open flowing rugby and MV's Under 14s and 16s used this to their advantage in county competition semi-finals.

The U14s hosted Bury and proved to be much the stronger side and a talented back line stole the show romping home for a deserved 69-17 win to progress to the final.

The U16s made the trip to Heaton Moor and again a determined performance laid the base for a convincing win.

A good training policy has seen this team grow stronger through the season and the 4-47 victory was reward for the hard work put in.

The team now look forward to their final in two weeks time.

Trafford MV were also proud to have five of their U15s players take to the field at Twickenham as part of the Altrincham Grammar School Under-15 side which beat Graveney School 12-10 to win the Natwest Schools Trophy.

Rory Canham, Tom Quealy, Ross Dunleavy, Muzztafa Estwani and Saif Rattoo have worked hard all season with the Club team as well as the School to achieve this special occasion.
