ALTRINCHAM Grammar School take on Lymm High School in the semi-finals of the NatWest Schools Under 15 Vase at Allianz Park on Sunday March 16 (12pm).

Altrincham triumphed 29-7 when they met in the NatWest Schools Under 15 Cup. Altrincham Grammar School head coach Stephen Jelly has noticed an increased intensity in training with players looking to cement places for the big game.

”There’s is definitely a visible increase in excitement and intensity in training with players competing for places,” he said.

“So things are looking good, and it helps that we know what we’re up against but they could say exactly the same.

“There will be a few parents heading down, along with a couple of coaches, so hopefully we’ll have plenty of support.

“The boys have all watched Premiership rugby, so to play at a Premiership ground will be fantastic. Not many pros can say they’ve done that let alone schoolboy players.” The other semi-final on March is an all-London affair between Graveney School and St.George’s Weybridge (2pm). Both of the NatWest Schools Under 15 Vase semi-finals on March 16 will be streamed live on www.rfu.com/natwestschoolscup.
