TRAFFORD MV went to Merseyside St Edward Old Boys

MV needed to pull together and take on the opposition up front to get a good platform to play from.

The forward performance came good and tries for stand in captain Danny Burke, Paul Hodgson and veteran John Kevan epitomised this forward dominance.

The team as a whole could, and should, have done better with the home side only fielding 14 men but a good win was enough.

Winger Jamie Kingdon ran in a further two tries for MV to show the expansive side of their game and stand off Stuart Crampton added two conversions and a penalty.

The home side were never a real threat but did manage a converted try and penalty as compensation.

MV are now just a single point behind Heaton Moor, who have a game in hand, but the pressure is now on them not to slip up.

Trafford MV will be at home on Saturday against ninth placed Garstang - MV will be confident going into this game and players will be keen to get back to training on drier pitches and putting the work in to get improving results as the season gets to its crucial stages. Kick off is at 2.15pm.
