TALENTED footballer Oliver Riley is a step closer to winning a dream professional contract with Leyton Orient, Swindon Town or Wycombe Wanderers.
Striker Oliver, 18, from Urmston, is one of 88 players who have progressed onto the semi-final stages of Samsung’s nationwide Win A Pro Contract competition, which attracted a record number 5,700 entrants.
Oliver impressed the Football CV scouts at his regional trial at Liverpool South Goals Soccer Centre on Sunday November 17.
Oliver said: “It’s one of the best feelings in football I’ve had for a long time. It is very exciting time for me and I’m looking forward to showing what I have to offer.
“Since the Samsung regional trial I have been training and playing matches with Curzon Ashton and playing 5-a-side at the local soccer centre.
“I’m ready for anything and will work my socks off to be rewarded with a professional contract.”
