Ice Hockey - Manchester Phoenix 3-2 Slough Jets
STAR forward Michal Psurny ensured Manchester Phoenix maintained their red hot start to the new season with a third period strike sealing a hard fought 3-2 win.0 Phoenix, who are now four wins from four games to start the campaign, had to battle against a resilient Jets side who Phoenix beat 4-2 the night before in Berkshire.00 A rocket slapshot from Frantisek Bakrlik set Phoenix on their way on Sunday before the Jets equalised through Ales Padelek against the run of play.
After a goalless middle session, Bakrlik restored the home sides lead early in the third period only to see ex-Phoenix forward Ciaran Long bring the Jets level again with a close range finish.
But, with Phoenix on the penalty kill and a man short, Psurny struck the winner with a breakaway effort with little over five minutes remaining to seal the points.
Phoenix are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Swindon Wildcats before a home encounter with the Peterborough Phantoms on Sunday.
