ADAFL season gets underway

THE new ADAFL Division One season kicked off with Cheadle Hulme the early pace setters after a convincing 4-1 away win at Atlantic FC.
In second place after the first round of fixtures sit lasts season’s Broadheath Central Cup winners Deans Youth who triumphed 3-1 against Sale Amateurs.
Flixton Juniors are in third place after a man of the match performance from Connor Beard inspired them to narrowly defeat Knutsford FC 3-2, with goals from Clive Hampshire and Mark Evans for Knutsford respectively.
ADAFL Division Two kicked off with Wythenshawe Amateurs leading the pack after an emphatic 4-1 home win against Broadheath JFC.
In second place are Juno United after a resounding 4-2 away victory at Timperley Taverners. Juno United led 3-0 at half-time after a brace from Mark McKinney and a Matt Gillings goal, McKinney went on to complete his hat-trick early in the second-half. Timperley fought back with two late goals which proved to be merely consolations.
APFC complete the top three after a 3-1 win at home to Styal with Gareth Metcalfe on the score-sheet for Styal.
George FC sit in fourth after a tight 2-1 win over Unicorn Athletic, George FC’s goals were scored by Lungi Keswa and Danny Healy with Unicorn’s Tom Aldred netting in reply. In fifth place and completing the opening weekend’s results sit West Didsbury and Chorlton who edged Moorlands 1-0 in a tight game at SalfordCity Sports Village.
