Altrincham Kersal 43 Manchester 12

THERE was double success for the Altrincham Kersal (AK) teams over Manchester at the weekend.

On Saturday AK first team had a comprehensive win by 43 points to 12. Playing open and entertaining rugby AK took command of the game in the first half with a hat trick of tries from flying winger Jack Wise for a 22 – 7 lead at half time.

Jack Wise scored his fourth try in the second half and further tries came from Tony O’Connor and James Singleton.

Chris Stewart kicked two conversions and Rob Holloway kicked three plus a penalty.

On Sunday the AK women’s team won 14 – 0 at Manchester. Tries in each half were scored by Eeron Cunningham and Jasmine Titmus, with Pam Read converted both to keep AK third in League North 2.

Also on Sunday the AK Under 16s beat Caldy 31 – 12 with tries from Sam Yarrow (2), Rory Entwistle and Adam Welton, who also kicked four conversions and a penalty.

In the recent Caldy Festival the AK Under 15s won the Plate Competition for the second year on the run.

Next Saturday at Stelfox Ave AK first team play Carlisle and on Sunday the women’s team are at home to Sheffield.
