Altrincham Grammar School for Boys applauds primary school sport funding

ALTRINCHAM Grammar School for Boys (AGSB) support a Government intiative to provide additional funding to primary schools to develop grassroots sport.

The initiative encourages schools to acquire the services of qualified coaches from governing bodies.

This principle was adopted by AGSB four years ago when in an endeavour to develop table tennis they called on the services of former Scotland national champion and current English Table Tennis Association regional coach Brian Kean.

The success of the past few years is evident from the fact AGSB have won through to the finals of the National Schools U16 team championships which takes place March 23 in Hinckley Leicestershire, where they will compete for the National title in a four team play off.

This replicates their performance at U13 level when they achieved the same position finishing fourth on that occasion.
