Northern Angling Show to debut at EventCity, Manchester March 23 and 24

KEEN anglers are being invited to the first ever angling show to be held in the north.

Despite 43 per cent of the UK’s annual rod license sales coming from the north west a dedicated angling show has never been hosted before in the north for fans of the sport.

Lymm Angling Club has reiterated the need for such an event in the region, confirming their support and attendance is of huge importance to their 1700+ registered members who have desired such a show in the North.

Andy Atack of Lymm Angling Club said: "Lymm Angling Club are delighted to be involved in such a cutting edge and exciting event as this in the North West and have enjoyed working with such a forward thinking and dedicated group of like minded people in the event's build up over the last few months.

“We are one of the quickest growing clubs in the north in terms of new waters and members and this will provide the ideal opportunity to showcase our great organisation and reach out to local anglers like ourselves. Lets show the south how it's done!"

The Northern Angling Show will take place at EventCity, next to the Trafford Centre, on March 23 and 24 this year and is expected to attract 10,000 visitors eager to try out its purpose built lakes for carp and coarse fishing and an ice and wet room so that amateur and keen fishermen can test some of the latest gear from exhibitors in the harshest of conditions.

Angling seminars, rig and bait clinics and demonstrations will also feature as part of the weekend attraction. Fishing experts will be offering advice and tips throughout the weekend and visitors will be able to take advantage of some great show deals and bargains from brands including Korda, Nash, Aqua, Trakker, Guru and Peg One that will be showcasing the latest equipment and tackle.

Fishing guru and former decathlete Dean Macey, and Derek ‘The Don’ Ritchie - one of the biggest personalities in carp fishing - will both be appearing over the two days. TV personalities Matt Hayes and Ali Hamidi will also be there, along with many other angling celebrities, including the current world champion match angler, Sean Ashby.

Carp angling ambassadors, Julian Cundiff, Steve Briggs and Rob Hughes are also confirmed to make an appearance along with representatives from the specimen and predator scenes all offering advice and tips for fishing fans that visit the show.
