Cheshire C are national pool champions

Feeling champion - the Cheshire C team.
MASTER cueists Cheshire C have been crowned national champions.
The team, based at Rileys in Altrincham and packed full of Altrincham & Chorlton Pool League players, reigned supreme at Selsey, Surrey in last weekend's English Blackball Pool Federation National County Championships.
Cheshire were unbeaten throughout after overcoming Derbyshire 14-8 in Sunday's final.
Skipper Jason King potted the final black and said: "What a fantastic feeling. To be able to say you're national champions is very special. Everyone played their part - even those who didn't play as many racks as they'd have wanted.
"To go through the finals unbeaten and maintain fantastic levels of focus over three days, especially in a real pressure cooker environment, speaks volumes for the players we have in the side. And they're not bad at playing the game either! This is a special feeling."
Pocket potting machine Nick Powell proved to be the final's stand-out player. Powell stood tall to produce a hat-trick of one-visit clearances against a shell-shocked Derbyshire.
Team Rileys' Dom Mills also impressed, claiming 11 wins from 12 over the three-day event, and only being denied a 100 per cent championships record after losing one rack in the final.
