DIVISION One table toppers AFC Quarry came out 1-5 winners away at Sale United to make it five victories on the bounce in all competitions.
A Tom Carter hat-trick was sandwiched in between goals from Andy Whitecross and Aaron Ewing after United had taken the lead.
Second-placed Broadheath Central FC and third-placed Sale Town beat Flixton Juniors (1-6) and Swinton FC (4-0) respectively to keep themselves firmly in the title race.
Elsewhere in the top flight, Sale Amateurs overcame Atlantic FC 3-2 to stretch their winning run in the league to three matches and Wilmslow Sports climbed up to seventh place in the standings thanks to a 7-3 success against bottom side Egerton FC.
Meanwhile in Division Two, Styal FC and Cheadle Hulme both failed to make ground on the league leaders Deans Youth after losing to Unicorn Athletic (4-3) and Old Alts (2-0) respectively.
The frontrunners were in League Cup quarter-final action and recorded an impressive 2-3 victory away at Division One outfit Knutsford FC.
They will face Sale Town in the last four on March 9. Northenden Victoria and Moorlands Sports are now Deans’ closest challengers with the former claiming a 3-0 win over APFC and the latter drawing 3-3 with West Didsbury and Chorlton. Just two points separate second-placed Northenden and eighth-placed Wendover AFC.
In the two other games played in the second tier, there were 1-1 draws in the matches involving Grappenhall Sports and Broadheath Central JFC and Wendover and Sale Town Reserves.
