THE top three in Division One all picked up three points at the weekend as the title race continued to gather pace.

League leaders AFC Quarry came out 3-5 winners at Swinton FC thanks to goals from Aaron Ewing, Terry Markham (2), James Pearce and Tom Carter. Second-placed Broadheath Central FC were awarded three points after their opponents Sale Moor FC failed to field a team and third-placed Sale Town claimed a 1-3 win at Sale United. In the one other game played in the top flight, Flixton Juniors thrashed Kartel Sports 0-5 on their travels to make it six games without defeat in all competitions.

Meanwhile in Division Two, there was no change at the summit as the three frontrunners all recorded victories.

Table toppers Deans Youth won 1-4 at Wendover AFC, second-placed Styal FC beat Sale Town Reserves 0-4 away from home and third-placed Cheadle Hulme prevailed 1-3 at Unicorn Athletic.

Elsewhere in the second tier, Moorlands Sports overcame Grappenhall Sports 3-0 to climb upto fourth position, Old Alts snatched a 3-2 victory against Northenden Victoria to move above their opponents into fifth spot and Broadheath Central JFC registered a 1-2 success at APFC to force their way into the top six.

Wilmslow Sports and Knutsford FC will contest the Altrincham and District FA Senior Cup final at the expense of Atlantic FC (0-1) and Sale Amateurs (4-3) respectively. The date of the final, which will be held at Altrincham FC, has yet to be confirmed.
