Fleetwood 8 Sale FC 25

AFTER two consecutive defeats, Sale finally got back on track with this bonus point win at bottom club Fleetwood.

On a bitterly cold day this was one of only four games played in the North of England, and although Sale had the early pressure it was the hosts who went ahead on 11 minutes with a try.

Sale responded with a penalty from Jonny Edwards, but it was a tight game and Sale went ahead on 30 minutes when Scott Redfern finished off some good handling to score wide out and put Sale 8-5 up at half time.

Fleetwood levelled with a penalty two minutes into the second half, but it took until the 57th minute for Sale to go ahead again when a fine passing move ended with Chris Lillie touching down for 13-8.

Sale were by no means secure and only in the final 10 minutes did they make the game safe with two tries from Nathan Bailey, and a conversion from Mike Swetman to put them back on top of the table.
