AK 1st Team travelled to Kirby Lonsdale on Saturday and the early exchanges were fairly even until AK scored a try through Chris Stewart.

AK then pressured for the rest of the half but having had what appeared a good try disallowed, their only reward was a James Nettleton penalty for an 8 – 0 half time lead.

A breakaway try from Kirby at the start of the second half reduced the lead to 8 – 5 and midway through the half Kirby scored again to lead 12 – 8.

AK took the lead back through a try by Jack Wise. However straight from the kick off AK gave away a penalty, which Kirby kicked to lead 15 – 13 and in the heavy conditions were able to hang on for the win.

On Sunday the AK Women’s team beat Chester 26 – 0 through tries by Lee Anne Cardus (2), Amy Jane Dutton and Jasmine Titmuss with Julie Clegg-Haver kicking three conversions.
