AFC Quarry and Sale Town moved above Broadheath Central FC at the top of Division One after both sides recorded 4-1 victories against Sale Amateurs and Kartel Sports respectively.

Two successfully converted penalties from Aaron Ewing were added to by goals for James Pearce and Martin Long to stretch Quarry's unbeaten run in the league to 10 matches.

Michael Gleave bagged a hat-trick for Town before Gary Wood completed his team's scoring prior to the half-time interval.

Elsewhere in the top flight, Atlantic FC came out 2-1 winners against Wilmslow Sports while Sale Moor FC won 2-3 away at Egerton FC to climb upto fourth place.

Meanwhile in Division Two, Cheadle Hulme reclaimed top spot thanks to an emphatic 4-0 win against Sale Town Reserves. Styal FC dropped to third place after suffering a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Broadheath Central JFC while Moorlands Sports moved upto fourth spot on the back of a 1-4 victory at Northenden Victoria.

In the two other games played in the second tier, APFC beat Grappenhall Sports 2-4 on their travels to end a run of three consecutive league defeats and West Didsbury & Chorlton claimed a 2-5 win at Unicorn Athletic to edge three points clear of their opponents. Old Alts' scheduled match against Deans Youth was postponed. Baroni FC have resigned from the league and their record has been expunged.

In the League Cup, Flixton Juniors overcame AFC Jolly Butcher 5-3 to set up a quarter-final tie at home to Kartel Sports.

Swinton FC were eliminated from the Manchester FA Saturday Cup after falling to a 2-3 loss at AFC Monton.
