YOUNG footballers from Sale United's u-6s showed off their skills at a recent tournament at the Sports Village, Milnrow.

The club entered two teams - the Aztecs and the Beavers - and the Beavers won the competition, the JSL Christmas Tournament U6.

The Beavers got through to the final by winning all of four of their qualifying games.

The final was against a ‘home’ junior soccer league side, which the Sale boys won convincingly, with a 3-1 scoreline.

Captain for the day Aaron picked up the winner’s trophy, their first piece of silverware this season.

Sale United’s U6s section head coach Stewart Hamer said: “This group of players have only been together since September, so it was good to see how they fared against opposition players they did not know.

"For all the boys this was a different challenge and both teams did very well and will have benefited from the experience.”

“The under sixes section is a progression of our ball skills ‘Gimme 5s’ programme aimed at children aged three to five-years-old, and you can see how they have benefited from this early type of training.”
