URMSTON men’s first team suffered a hard fought 2-4 loss after twice going ahead away at Sheffield Hallam.
Urmston were without six regular first team squad players and if the men’s firsts are going to mount a strong challenge this season, they are going to need everyone available each week.
The goal scorers were Ollie Cooper with a sweetly struck short corner and John Crossley with a poacher's goal.
The Urmston ladies 1st team continued their 100 per cent winning start to the season with a 2-3 win away at Manchester Manto Ladies 1s and remain top of the table. The goal scorers were goal machines Becky Crossley and Stacey Traynor (2).
Urmston men’s 2nd team came close but eventually slumped to a 5-4 loss at the hands of Blackpool Men’s 1st team. Captain Simon Davies remains upbeat after goals from Andy Power (3) and young Nick Wilson. The Urmston ladies 2nd team suffered their first loss of the season 2-1 at home to Didsbury Greys Ladies 3s with Moira Maher scoring for Urmston. Finally, the Urmston men’s 3rd team recorded back-to-back victories after Chris Bates scored the only goal of the game against Lymm men’s 3s.
