SALE quickly got back to winning ways with this eight try demolition of Wilmslow. Richard Coskie opened the scoring with a try in three minutes and Danny Waddy added a second on 15, both of which were converted by Andy Rowley.

Lee Brogan added a third 10 minutes later and Jack Rigby scored the bonus point try with five minutes remaining in the half.

Not content, Darius Miksys crossed for Sale’s fifth try on 38 minutes and with Rowley adding the conversion Sale led 31-5 at half time.

In the second half Kevin Penny scored a try on debut for the 1st XV and Rowley once again added the conversion. Penny then turned provider when he tapped back a high ball to the supporting Scott Redfern to score his first try on debut for Sale. Redfern added the conversion and a penalty, as Sale were reduced to thirteen men with two players in the sin-bin in the last ten minutes as Wilmslow came back late on to score three converted tries. Penny completed the scoring with a solo effort in the final minute to secure a worthy win.
