DE Brook Lodge Care Home in Flixton was transformed into the Rovers Return on Saturday (Feb 18) to welcome two familiar figures from Coronation Street.
Alan Halsall - who plays mechanic Tyrone Dobbs in the Street - and his real-life wife Lucy-Jo Hudson - who used to play Katy Harris in the soap - called in to meet residents and their families at the Irlam Road home.
To make their guests feel at home, staff served up a lunchtime buffet, with their own take on Betty’s Hot Pot.
A signed souvenir book, '50 years of Coronation Street', was also on offer as the star raffle prize.
Alan Halsall said: “It has been a pleasure for Lucy Jo and I to visit this fantastic care home. Dementia is a story line running through Coronation Street at the moment and it has been great to be able to see that high quality care is available and that De Brook Lodge is a clearly a great place to live.”
Lucy is currently starring as Rosie Trevanion in the ITV drama 'Wild at Heart'.
