PLANS are being drawn up for a new festival in Urmston this summer.

Festival 41 will be a two-day festival on May 5 and 6 filled with music and comedy from a mix of local and well-known performers.

Festival director, Carla Speight said: “With the resurgence of local business in Urmston, I feel it is time to bring something extra special to the community. Making sure everyone knows Urmston the place to be”

“We want as many people as possible to enjoy all that Festival 41 has to o?er. Including our fabulous line up, we will also have lots of extra special events happening throughout the festival weekend”

Inclusion and community will be at the heart of Festival 41 and throughout the weekend disabilities will be supported.

British sign language interpreters will be on stage throughout all of the performances and there will be wheelchair access across the venue.

There will also be a dedicated children’s area, which aims to provide youngsters with experiences that aren’t usually available to them as well as encourage learning, using their imagination and having fun.

Local businesses can also get involved to showcase what they have to offer at the festival.

Festival 41 has already created a following across social media, with residents getting involved in plans such as their favourite places to eat that could possibly be used at the festival.
