ONE of Justin Bieber's hockey sticks has been put onto an online auction to raise money for victims of the Manchester Arena bombing.

The stick was brought over to the UK by Justin who used it to play with Manchester Storm at Altrincham Ice Rink, after appearing at the One Love Manchester concert organised by Ariana Grande at Old Trafford Cricket Ground, which raised more than £2m towards the appeal.

The general manager of the Storm, Neil Russell said: "This was the third time the team has met up with Justin and it was great to see him again.

"In his latest appearance, he played in a knockabout with the Storm the Monday after the concert before jetting off to Denmark to play another concert there.

"It all had to be a bit hush hush, so we kept his appearance with the team quiet but he certainly has an affiliation with the team."

The previous two meetings between the Canadian superstar were last autumn when he was playing a concert tour in Manchester before putting on his skates and taking to the Altrincham rink and the second occasion was at a rink in Milton Keynes while he was performing at London's O2 Arena. On that occasion he also provided the players with VIP tickets to watch his concert there.

Neil says that the experience of the team has shown that the bad boy image often portrayed by the media was wide of the mark.

He explains: "One of our players was on holiday in Costa Rica when he got a tap on the shoulder and when he turned round it was Justin, who had remembered him.

"I think he gets a bad rap but he was brilliant with the guys and all his entourage were really nice. I think he just likes being one of the boys."

The auction, which is being hosted on i-bidder.com the link is ( http://bit.ly/2sWXA8U), and will end at 6pm on Sunday, June 18, 2017. All auction proceeds will go directly to the British Red Cross Manchester Fund.
