THE company behind a new development near Urmston town centre has launched a photo competition to celebrate the town's great outdoors.

The new £11m luxury retirement development, on Moorside Road, is being built by Adlington and will offer 55 one, two and three bedroom apartments.

As part of Adlington's commitment to ongoing projects in the local community, they have started a photography competition that challenges the community to send the best pictures they have of Davyhulme Nature reserve.

The photos should be submitted directly to Adlington through their social media channels or by email, with the winner set to win a £100 voucher for the intu Trafford Centre.

Claire Reede, sales and marketing manager at Adlington, said: “As a developer, we believe that it’s hugely important to get involved with the local community and we know that Davyhulme Nature Reserve is an area very close to the hearts of lots of people in Urmston.

"We’re fortunate enough to have a great habitat for wildlife right on our doorstep and with summer approaching, it’s the perfect time to celebrate that."

Once the competition closes, the local community is being urged to vote for their favourites from a shortlist of the top five entries.

The nature reserve, which is managed by United Utilities, covers more than 9.2 hectares along the western bank of the Manchester Ship Canal and has a designated site of biological importance.

Open to photographers of all ages, you can enter via @AdlingtonLife on Twitter or through 'Adlington Independent Living' on Facebook.

Each apartment in the development will feature a balcony or patio alongside a communal area whilE a range of activities will be made available.
