FLIXTON Girls' School's science department donated 10 unused microscopes to World Wide Education Project, http://www.wwep.org.uk/what-we-do/.

The charity helps provide school design, teacher training, psychosocial support and classroom supplies in developing, disaster and conflict affected countries.

They currently have projects in ‘The Jungle’ Calais, Syria, Ghana, Sudan, Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa - all of which are or have benefited from the expertise, training and support provided by the charity and their supporters.

By donating the microscopes wthe Flixton school aims to help young people in developing, conflict or disaster areas to broaden their education and improve their prospects.

Simon Devine, founder and operational director, said: ‘Thank you for the donation of microscopes to our work. We are looking to send them to Ghana in the new year to our partner school SOS Children’s Village school in Kumasi where we are delivering teacher training and psychosocial support to the teachers and orphan carers there.’ For more information on this project visit: www.wwep.org.uk/ghana/
