A POLICE investigation has been sparked after a body was found at a flat in Urmston.

Officers scrambled to Gloucester Road at around 7pm on Sunday October 30 to reports a 42-year-old man was found dead in a flat.

An investigation was launched but it has not yet been determined if the death was suspicious.

The man has not yet been formally identified. Officers are still at the scene this morning and the road has been cordoned off.

A police spokesperson said: “Police were called at around 7pm on Sunday 30 October to a report that the body of a 42-year-old man had been found in a flat on Gloucester Road, Urmston.

“Police have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.

“Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting reference number 2397 of 30/10/16 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”

The incident occurred just a couple of hundred yards from where the body of 63-year-old Jia Li Huang was found two months ago.

A murder probe was launched after the father-of-three was found dead in a flat in Atkinson Street, adjacent to Gloucester Road.

A woman also suffered serious injuries. A 35-year-old man was charged with murder and attempted murder in relation to the incident.
