MP Kate Green visited Thomas Carter Opticians in Urmston to feast her eyes on a fabulous selection of cakes at the shop's Macmillan Coffee morning.
Each member of the Thomas Carter team baked a cake for their customers to enjoy, in return for a donation to Macmillan.
Urmston cake maker, Richard’s Cakes, also donated some tasty treats for everyone to enjoy. The coffee morning raised £420, £76 of which was given to Macmillan nationally and the rest donated to the Macmillan Wellbeing Centre in Urmston.
The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event for people facing cancer, where people all over the country host coffee mornings and donate the proceeds to Macmillan.
Stretford and Urmston MP Ms Green said: “I really enjoyed visiting Thomas Carter for its Macmillan Coffee morning.
“It’s great to see a fabulous local business going the extra mile to raise money for people facing cancer in our community.
Bob Thomas Carter said: “It was lovely to see lots of people at the coffee morning taking their time and having a chat. "Urmston people have a great sense of community, and everyone loves cake.”
