FAMILIES visiting Urmston’s Eden Square Shopping Centre during the summer school holidays will be forgiven if they think they are by the seaside.
Tomorrow, Thursday August 4, Thursday August 18 and Thursday September 1, there will be free entertainment synonymous with summer holidays.
On Thursday August 4 (11am-3.30pm), Seaside Sid will be inviting families to ‘get in the picture’ and have their photo taken using his ‘peep hole’ Seaside Screen.
All photos taken by Sid’s Assistants will be placed in a special album on the centre’s Facebook page and shoppers invited to ‘like’ their favourite for a chance to win £25 in shopping vouchers.
It’s party time on Thursday August 18 with ‘fun in the sun’ music, dance, games and competitions with ‘End of Pier’ Shows with Marco the Clown (11.30am, 12.30pm, 2pm and 3pm) – there will even be a knobbly knee competition.
The ‘holiday’ concludes on Thursday September 1 with traditional seaside entertainment – Punch & Judy shows (11.30am, 12.30pm, 2pm and 3pm) - with Professor Brian Llewellyn.
“We may not be having the best summer weather this year but we hope we can bring the sights and sounds of traditional seaside holidays to Urmston this holiday,” says Dion Mulvey, manager of the Eden Square Shopping Centre.
