She may not spring to mind when you think 'EU referendum' but Katie Price's appearance on a TV debate last night is not her first flirt with politics.

But what many people may be not realise is that the multi-millionairess once stood for Parliament - attempting to become Stretford and Urmston MP.

Then known as Jordan, the former glamour model made a bid for the seat, which is currently held by Kate Green, back in 2001.

The star, who admits she has never voted, was just 23 when she contested the seat but only secured 713 votes.

During last night's debate, Katie, who also made an unsuccessful bid to represent Britain in the Eurovision in 2005, said she was on the fence.

'I have never voted before, I feel I am pressured I have to vote this time,' she said.

'Do I think of myself as a family, or the country? I am just confused. This has made it confusing.'

Although she came in for some some criticism, her honest response seemed to resonate with Brits, with many viewers agreeing they were in two minds over the IN or OUT vote.
