URMSTON Choral Society will be performing a free concert at St John’s Church in Irlam Road, Flixton, on Wednesday, July 13, during Flixton Festival Week, which runs from Sunday July 10-17.
The café-style event will start at 7.30pm and members of the Women’s Institute will be providing refreshments. All donations from the concert will be presented to the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust.
The choir will be under the leadership of musical director, Julie Parker, and the musical repertoire will include compositions by John Rutter as well as choir soloists singing popular songs including If I Ruled the World, Feed the Birds, Younger Than Springtime and Count Your Blessings.
Julie said: “The Choir’s involvement in the Flixton Festival has now become a well-established feature of the local calendar which we are really looking forward to, particularly as it raises many hundreds of pounds for good causes in our area.”
As this is a free concert and tickets are not being issued, people are asked to arrive early to avoid disappointment.
