A TEAM from the SEALIFE Centre is urging residents to be part of something special this summer and help them clean up the Bridgewater Canal.
To date, the team from SEALIFE, which is based at the Trafford Centre, has collected more than 360kg of waste from the canal, around the same weight as two huge Napoleon Wrasse fish.
The team has been operating comprehensive clean-ups at the canal since March this year, and hope to continue to do so as long as waste and litter pose a problem.
This is the first clean up that is open to the public however, and the team urges those interested to come along and meet them at 12pm, at the SEA LIFE centre, Barton Square, the Trafford Centre, on August 18.
There will be free entry to the centre following the clean.
