Candidate raises pedestrian concerns

LABOUR Party candidate for Urmston, Catherine Hynes, has been following up residents’ concerns about pedestrian access into Urmston town centre. Cars parked on pavements is among the issues raised with her.

This can make the pavements so narrow that pedestrians have to step out into busy traffic.

Catherine said: “Some drivers may think that they are leaving a big enough gap for people to walk through, but parents with small children, people using mobility scooters or a visually-impaired person with a guide dog could find it very difficult.”
