Let me start by introducing myself.

I am Inspector 18865 James Lockett and I have recently moved to Altrincham following 17 years working in the Stockport Borough of Greater Manchester as both a Police Constable and Sergeant.

I have inherited geographic responsibility for the Timperley and Broadheath areas and will also work with my district colleagues serving the wider Borough of Trafford.

Although I have only been here for just two weeks, I have already been impressed by the commitment and enthusiasm of the local staff who clearly take great pride in serving these communities.

Indeed, there are a number of things I am trying to achieve as soon as I possibly can. I have become aware of issues involving anti-social behaviour around the Metrolink stations in Hale, Altrincham and Sale. Consequently, we recently launched an operation to combat this which I have continued to co-ordinate.

This has involved high visibility Policing including using our Mounted patrols in order to provide reassurance to our communities.

In addition, my team wish to work with our residents to reduce incidents of theft and burglary. Some burglary prevention tips include:

• Ensure your external doors and windows are locked and secure.

• Don’t leave valuables including vehicle keys on show on window sills and kitchen worktops etc.

• If you have multiple vehicles, block each other in on your driveway behind locked gates if possible.

For more specific crime prevention advice please contact the local Policing team using the email address below.

In addition, we would urge all members of the public to report any issues of anti-social behaviour or criminality to us.

Please use 999 in an emergency or 101 for non-emergency calls, we also have our local phone line of 0161 856750 or email us on TraffordSouth@gmp.police.uk.
