OVER the Past year, local computer company Fathom IT have been supporting a cancer support charity based in Widnes, Cheshire.

The computer specialists based on Manchester Road have donated raffle prizes and offered their IT services to the charity.

Widnes and Runcorn Cancer Support Group provide support to individuals who have been touched by cancer and their latest service supports children and young people who have an adult in their life affected by cancer. They do this by offering support sessions in schools within the Halton borough.

The children and young people's service is coming up to its first birthday and to celebrate the charity are running a 'Give a Gift' campaign where every child they have worked with across the year will receive a special gift this Christmas.

Fathom IT stepped in when they heard about the campaign to offer their invaluable support to help raise awareness of the campaign and collect gifts that they can pass on to the children by approaching their customers to ask for their support.

Nathan Evans Managing Director at Fathom IT said: “Fathom IT hold true the basic principle that it’s good for all to give back to the community and endeavour where possible to do so. We like giving and think that the feel good factor and pleasure from that is vital to our wellbeing and the added bonus is you help someone else. Joe had an idea and hey presto he, we and our clients did it."

Staff at Fathom have been overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of those who have donated gifts, especially one of the company’s long-standing customers Altrincham Preparatory School who donated a number of gifts.

Widnes and Runcorn Cancer Support Group said: "We are extremely grateful to Fathom IT and their customers for their support, without donations the charity would not be able to provide such lovely gifts to the amazing young people that we work with."
