PLANS have been unveiled for a new community hub with its own restaurant, nursery and community centre in Broadheath.
A Farmhouse Inn restaurant, 120-space nursery and community space for the Broadheath Community Association (BCA) will be built on the site on the corner of Turnbull Road.
The partners in the development - Trafford Council, Greene King, McGoff & Byrne and Villafont – have completed on the contract for the project following many years of talks.
Council leader Sean Anstee said: “We really had to battle for this and we’re delighted it’s finally happening.
"The community has wanted this for a long time. It will be a fantastic facility that the whole of Broadheath will benefit from.”
The Farmhouse Inn, run by Greene King, will be aimed primarily at families. It will have a children’s play area and will not show sports or play loud music.
The nursery part of the development will provide day care for up to 120 children and will be delivered by developers Villafont.
It will have an outdoor play area, space for planting vegetables and a sandpit. There will also be external play equipment, including synthetic grass, will be among the facilities for the children to enjoy.
The final part of the hub will be a new multifunctional space for residents to gather for group activities, classes and events.
