DOZENS of artists from across the north West have become involved in a project to show off all that is best in Sale.

The “Made for Sale” exhibition, at the Waterside Arts Centre, from July 8 to August 5, was the idea of the Sale Arts Trail to celebrate a recent accolade in which the town was claimed to be the fourth best place to live in the UK.

The trail organisers called on dozens of artists from the local area and further afield to make a piece specifically for the new exhibition, but responding to the town as the theme.

One of the organisers, Sophie Nixon said, “We are delighted with the response we have had from our artists and makers. We have a wealth of exciting new work coming from some of the most talented artists in the North West including City Life award winning photographer Simon Buckley and celebrated Manchester urban sketcher Liz Ackerley.”

“This should be a really interesting show with artists responding to the minute detail of our beautiful local architecture right through to the famous alumni that was born or lived in Sale, including JP Joule and the founder of art therapy Edward Adamson.”

A preview event will be held on Thursday, July 6, from 7.30pm until 9.30 pm, where people will be welcomed all to attend for a glass of wine and to see the works, some of which are available to buy.

Mr Nixon added: “We are delighted to have the support of local businesses and are delighted to say that Cave Framing, Mustard and several other local businesses are offering prizes to both the artists and visitors.”
